Presented a research poster summarizing the 2012 summit “Building a Bridge to Literacy for African American Males” and updating the library community on initiatives related to literacy education for African American adolescent males that have resulted from this summit. Co-presented with Sandra Hughes-Hassell at the Ignite session titled “Building a Bridge to Literacy for African American Male Youth: How the Library Community Has Answered the Call.”

Co-presented with Sandra Hughes Hassell at the session titled “Charting Courses: Diversity Research Grants” to update stakeholders regarding the results of our research into enabling texts for African American adolescent males. Presented a research poster summarizing the results of my Masters Paper research at the YA Research Poster Session, sponsored by YALSA. Represented UNC SILS at a Ph.D. recruitment event titled “Leaders Wanted – LIS Doctoral Program Options Fair: Cultivating Diversity in LIS.”
